VA Tech Wabag, a leading provider of desalination and water treatment solutions based in Chennai, announced on Thursday that it has secured orders worth ₹340 crore from GAIL (India) and Indian Oil Corporation (IOCL). The orders include the design, construction, and operation of a 450 m³/hr UF & RO-based Effluent Recycle Plant, an evaporator-based Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) Plant, a new Wastewater Treatment Plant, and the expansion of an existing Wastewater Treatment Plant at GAIL’s integrated petrochemical complex in Pata, Uttar Pradesh.
The Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) scope for this project is scheduled for completion within 24 months, followed by an additional six months for Operation and Maintenance (O&M). Projects and Development India Limited (PDIL) has been appointed as the Engineer-in-Charge for the project.
Additionally, Wabag has secured a repeat O&M order from IOCL worth ₹20 crore for the Tertiary Treatment Reverse Osmosis (TTRO) Plant at the IOCL Panipat Refinery in Haryana, extending the O&M contract for another three years.
Wabag has been responsible for the O&M of the TTRO plant since its commissioning in 2006. This facility was designed, constructed, and commissioned by Wabag nearly two decades ago and is recognized as the first industrial water recycling plant in the oil and gas sector in India.
