VA Tech Wabag announced a 17.2% year-on-year (YoY) rise in its net profit for the July-September 2024 quarter, driven by the company’s strategic focus on international projects and advanced technology. Net profit for Q2 climbed to ₹70.3 crore, compared to ₹60 crore during the same period in 2023.

Chairman and Managing Director Rajiv Mittal attributed the strong performance to Wabag’s targeted approach, saying, “This quarter has been another phase of profitable growth, driven by our emphasis on technology, industrial projects, and international expansion.” The company’s revenue for the quarter also saw a 5.3% YoY increase, reaching ₹700 crore, up from ₹665 crore in Q2 FY2023.

EBITDA grew by 8.4% to ₹93.3 crore, up from ₹86 crore in the same period last year. The company’s EBITDA margin improved slightly to 13.3%, from 13% in Q2 FY2023, reflecting healthy growth in both revenue and profit.

Mittal also highlighted the company’s record order book, which now exceeds ₹146 billion, the highest in Wabag’s history. This backlog, consisting of a balanced mix of EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) projects, both in India and abroad, strengthens the company’s revenue visibility, cash flows, and margin profile. He added, “This strong order book positions us well as we head into the second half of the financial year.”
