The India Energy Storage Alliance (IESA) has forecasted a USD 500 million investment influx into India’s battery and mobility startup sector within the next year. This investment will fuel innovation, R&D, and the development of new products within these startups, according to an IESA announcement.
In addition, the funding will also support businesses involved in Battery Management Systems (BMS), safety management, and component manufacturing. The IESA hosted its Start-Up Connect program in partnership with Hero MotoCorp at the Bharat Battery Show, part of the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025. During the event, Panneerselvam Madanagopal, CEO of MeitY Startup Hub, highlighted how government collaboration can further support the growth of India’s startup ecosystem.
IESA is also working to foster this ecosystem through its startup and innovation program, which engages with over 400 startups and partners with organizations like UNIDO, iCreate, India Accelerator, VJTI-TBI, BCKIC, and other global entities to offer investment opportunities, mentorship, technology validation, and international partnerships.
Debi Prasad Dash, President of IESA, said, “We expect to see over USD 500 million in investments this year, which will enable startups to pioneer innovations in battery technology and EV infrastructure, further enhancing India’s leadership in sustainable mobility and energy storage solutions.”
The Bharat Battery Show, part of IESA’s Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025, saw impressive participation, with more than 30,000 visitors exploring the latest trends in battery storage and recycling. IESA, founded in 2012 by Customized Energy Solutions (CES), is dedicated to making India a global hub for advanced energy storage, electric mobility, and green hydrogen technologies.
