Urja Mobility, a startup specializing in electric vehicle (EV) battery leasing, has partnered with Sieger Technologies to roll out 2,500 advanced batteries for electric two-wheelers and three-wheelers. Supported by a ₹10 crore investment from Urja Mobility, the initiative aims to remove financial obstacles to battery ownership and accelerate the adoption of sustainable transport solutions.
The collaboration introduces a battery leasing model designed to make EV ownership more affordable, particularly for fleet operators. This model provides businesses with a cost-effective alternative to outright battery purchases, enabling broader access to commercial EVs.
Pankaj Chopra, Founder and CEO of Urja Mobility, highlighted the partnership’s potential to drive change in the EV ecosystem. “Our ₹10 crore investment in Sieger Technologies enables us to provide fleet operators with high-performance battery solutions that are both reliable and sustainable,” he stated.
The advanced batteries, developed by Sieger Technologies, feature innovative capabilities such as a smart Battery Management System (BMS) with IoT integration, enhanced thermal management, and high energy efficiency through advanced chemistry cells. These batteries are compatible with a variety of EVs and are engineered to optimize performance and longevity.
Guru Prasanth, Founding Partner of Sieger Technologies, emphasized the impact of combining cutting-edge battery technology with Urja Mobility’s innovative leasing model. “This partnership is set to redefine the EV experience for both businesses and end-users by making it more efficient and accessible,” he said.
Urja Mobility’s leasing program offers Lithium-Ion batteries in multiple configurations. For electric three-wheelers, options include 51.2V-100Ah and 200Ah batteries, while for two-wheelers, configurations range from 51.2V-20Ah to 40Ah. All models feature fast-charging capabilities, with full charges achievable in just 2–4 hours.
By transforming the upfront cost of EV batteries into manageable monthly payments, Urja Mobility aims to reduce financial strain on businesses. This approach is expected to boost EV adoption across India, supporting the nation’s shift toward cleaner and more sustainable transportation.
