Swedish system integrator URBS announced a partnership with Bootes to bring investments and technology from Nordic countries to India, aiming to drive growth in the country’s infrastructure and real estate sectors.
The collaboration is set to boost India’s efforts in decarbonization by leveraging Nordic green financing for verified net-zero projects and introducing advanced technologies designed for high efficiency and low environmental impact. The partnership is further bolstered by growing interest from the Nordic region in providing top-rated backing for these scalable initiatives.
Fredrik Agerhem, Managing Director of Finance at URBS, emphasized the urgency of the climate crisis, stating, “This collaboration will offer transparency in technology and create a platform for green funds and top-rated institutions to invest in one of the most dynamic markets worldwide.”
In December 2023, URBS and Bootes launched a Cooling-As-A-Service initiative aimed at reducing India’s energy costs by up to 50% and cutting carbon emissions. The two companies plan to execute over ₹1,000 crore in private sector projects in India over the coming years.
URBS founder and CEO Will Sibia expressed confidence in Bootes’ execution capabilities, saying, “This partnership represents a commitment to excellence in Indian real estate, blending advanced technologies with financial de-risking to support India’s shift towards a circular economy.”
Bootes CEO Deepak Rai added that the strengthened partnership marks a significant step in their mission to accelerate India’s journey towards a net-zero future, leveraging Nordic green financing and cutting-edge technology to deliver sustainable projects at scale.
