Uno Minda Limited, a global supplier of automotive systems and solutions, has revealed plans to expand its manufacturing footprint with new facilities in Indonesia and India. The company will meet growing demand from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) in these regions through these new investments.
Uno Minda’s subsidiary, PT Minda Asean Automotive (PTMA), based in Indonesia, has secured new orders for long tail lamps for passenger cars. To cater to this increasing demand, a new manufacturing plant will be established in Indonesia, expected to be operational by the fourth quarter of FY26.
The company, which has had a presence in Indonesia since 2015, aims to diversify its product offerings through this new facility. The new plant, with an estimated capital expenditure of ₹210 crore, will also consolidate operations by relocating the existing facility to the new site.
In India, Uno Minda is expanding its manufacturing capacities through its subsidiary, Uno Mindarika Private Ltd (UMRPL). The company recently established a new plant in Farrukhnagar, Gurugram, Haryana, to produce automotive switch components.
In the next phase, UMRPL will shift its existing plant from Manesar to the new facility in Farrukhnagar, with an investment of ₹120 crore. This relocation is slated for completion by the third quarter of FY27, ensuring an uninterrupted supply chain and flexibility for future growth.
Additionally, Uno Minda‘s joint venture, Toyoda Gosei Minda India Pvt Ltd, plans to set up a new plant in Harohalli, Karnataka. This facility will manufacture safety systems such as airbags, steering wheels, and interior products like console boxes. The project, expected to cost ₹283 crore, is scheduled to begin operations in the first quarter of FY27.
