Around 60 participants in the Eplan Partner Network: Working closely with its partners, solutions provider Eplan is paving the way for companies to implement the digital transformation

The Eplan Partner Network was established over two years ago and has since seen an increase in membership with around fifty companies joining. The network comprises of strategic partners such as Phoenix Contact, Siemens, and Rockwell Automation, as well as technology partners like ABB, Lapp Kabel, Wago, and Weidmüller. The common goal of these partners is to provide the highest level of integration with Eplan for their solutions in the age of digital transformation. The network aims to bring together various software applications, such as product configurators, CPQ, PLC, PLM/ERP, among others, to facilitate seamless communication between them.

In order to effectively utilize the diverse software applications from multiple manufacturers, the Eplan Partner Network was founded. The network is dedicated to maximizing the productive interactions between software solutions such as product configurators, CPQ, PLC, and PLM/ERP. The network has established concrete targets for improving integrations and creating a strong foundation for manufacturers. Customers benefit from the high-quality software, ongoing advancements, and an increase in efficiency in their workflow processes. With open interfaces and extensive integration, the network offers numerous opportunities to implement digital transformation in real-world applications.

The Eplan Partner Network is a global organization that consists of four types of partners: strategic partners, technology partners, solutions partners, and research partners. The network is dedicated to maximizing the benefits of software applications through joint development of integrations and offering quality assurance and support through open interfaces. This collaboration allows users to derive the maximum benefits from their software solutions.

At the SPS trade show in November 2022, Alexander Bürkle and ABB (among others) presented about their activities as part of the Eplan Partner Network

The Eplan Partner Network is a globally-established framework organization. By collaborating on integration development, quality assurance, and support based on open interfaces, users can reap the greatest benefits from the applications. Key players in the automation sector joined the network early in 2021, including strategic partners Rittal, Phoenix Contact, and Rockwell Automation, and the network was expanded in 2022 to include Siemens and its Smart Infrastructure division. Technology partners make up the largest portion of the Eplan Partner Network, with 38 companies in this sector. Luca Cavalli, Digital Ecosystem Manager of leading technology company ABB remarks, “Eplan plays a crucial role in the rapidly expanding network of electrical systems designers. The seamless integration between ABB’s digital e-Configure platform and the Eplan Data Portal is a prime example of this, streamlining the design process for users. With the implementation of sustainable energy systems and smart industry upgrades, ABB is dedicated to supporting professionals managing these changes. The integration of engineering and configuration tools guarantees both time savings and high-quality data.”

The Eplan Partner Network continues to expand its network of technology partners, with companies from around the world joining to take advantage of the seamless integration between the various software applications. In addition to the previously mentioned global players, the network now includes 38 technology partners such as Auvesy-MDT, Ehrt, Gossen Metrawatt, Jetter and Sigmatek. The network has also welcomed international companies such as Digiwin from China and Trace Software from France. As stated by Sandra Huang of Digiwin, “The integration between Digiwin PLM and Eplan helps engineers to focus on project planning by automatically synchronizing relevant information including bills of materials, parts data, and project data between the Eplan Platform and Digiwin PLM, resulting in consistent and up-to-date data throughout the project life cycle.”

The solutions partners segment of the Eplan Partner Network boasts a diverse array of well-known automation companies, including Alexander Bürkle, a technology services provider and electronics wholesaler, CADTalk, a provider of CAD/PDM-ERP integrations, and Cideon, a systems integrator. Other solutions partners include D&TS GMBH, which specializes in master data management, Elmo Solutions, a provider of CAD/PDM/PLM-ERP integrations, and Grollmus, a company specializing in PLC programming. The list of solutions partners also includes PLM CAD Utilities, Secude International, Semodia, Solidline, Wus-Tec, and Zahnen Technik. This extensive range of solutions showcases the breadth of integrations that can be achieved within the Eplan environment. According to Benedikt Ney, CTO at Zahnen Technik, “Our partnership with Eplan is helping us make great strides towards our goal of providing everyone with access to clean water.”

Recently, a research partnership was established with TH Lübeck University, thereby expanding the existing network of research partners that includes the European 4.0 Transformation Center (E4TC) and the Institute for Control Engineering of Machine Tools and Manufacturing Units (ISW) at the University of Stuttgart.
