UNITED GRINDING Group to Enhance Offerings with Acquisition of GF Machining Solutions

UNITED GRINDING Group has announced a strategic agreement to acquire GF Machining Solutions (GFMS), a division of Swiss corporation Georg Fischer AG, to expand its market reach and deliver an even broader range of ultra-precision machining solutions to customers worldwide.

UNITED GRINDING and GF Machining Solutions (GFMS) are set to combine their strengths to establish a leading position in the ultra-precision machining market. The acquisition, valued between CHF 630 million and CHF 650 million, is anticipated to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approval.

UNITED GRINDING Group, a prominent global manufacturer of grinding, eroding, laser, and measurement machines, as well as additive manufacturing tools, operates through 20 manufacturing, service, and sales sites worldwide, with around 2,000 employees.

Known for its customer-centric and efficient approach, the group includes well-recognized brands like MÄGERLE, BLOHM, JUNG, STUDER, SCHAUDT, MIKROSA, WALTER, EWAG, and IRPD, along with competence centers in the Americas and Asia. Its majority shareholder is Patinex AG, a Swiss holding company owned by Martin and Rosmarie Ebner.

GFMS supports over 40 global locations with a workforce of approximately 3,500 employees, delivering advanced technology and support for clients worldwide.
