UltraTech Cement Ltd, one of India’s top cement producers, has commissioned its second cement grinding unit at its Maihar facility in Madhya Pradesh. The newly launched mill adds 1.8 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) to the company’s production capacity.
In a regulatory announcement on June 26, the company stated, “We are pleased to announce the commissioning of the second cement grinding mill with a capacity of 1.8 mtpa at our Maihar unit in Madhya Pradesh, in line with our ongoing expansion strategy.”
The first mill at the same location became operational in March 2025. With the addition of this new facility, UltraTech’s total domestic grey cement production capacity has increased to 186.86 mtpa. When combined with its international operations, the company’s overall cement capacity now stands at 192.26 mtpa.
On the financial front, UltraTech reported a 12.6% rise in EBITDA, which increased to ₹4,618 crore from ₹4,114 crore in the previous quarter ending December. However, the EBITDA margin saw a slight dip of 20 basis points year-on-year, moving from 20.2% to 20%.
