UltraTech Cement has commissioned an additional 1.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) of grinding capacity at its facility in Arakkonam, Tamil Nadu. This expansion is part of the company’s broader plan to add 22.6 MTPA, which was announced in June 2022.
With this latest addition, UltraTech’s total cement production capacity has now reached 156.06 MTPA. The company, a key player under the Aditya Birla Group, is the third largest cement manufacturer globally (excluding China) with a consolidated grey cement capacity of 154.86 MTPA.
In terms of financial performance, UltraTech Cement reported a slight rise in consolidated net profit to ₹1,696.59 crore for Q1 FY25, compared to ₹1,688.45 crore in Q1 FY24. The company’s revenue from operations increased by 1.87% year-over-year, reaching ₹18,069.56 crore in the quarter ending June 30, 2024.
