Hindustan Zinc Limited (NSE: HINDZINC) is set to launch the inaugural Vedanta Zinc City Half Marathon in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on September 29, 2024. This event, which has been officially certified by the Association of International Marathons and Distance Races (AIMS), will feature a scenic route around Fateh Sagar Lake and through Udaipur’s historic landmarks. The marathon includes various categories: a 21-kilometer half marathon, a 10-kilometer Cool Run, and a 5-kilometer Dream Run.

The marathon, themed #RunForZeroHunger, aligns with the global fight against hunger, coinciding with Nutrition Month (Poshan Maah) in India. Participants will support the cause of providing nutritious meals to those in need, particularly in rural areas where malnutrition remains a significant issue.

Hindustan Zinc’s CEO, Arun Misra, expressed his enthusiasm for the event, emphasizing its role in promoting health, wellness, and community engagement. Udaipur, known as Zinc City due to its rich history in zinc mining, will host the marathon, showcasing the city’s cultural heritage and its contribution to India’s economic growth.

In addition to the Udaipur event, Hindustan Zinc has plans for the Vedanta Delhi Half Marathon in October and the Vedanta Pink City Half Marathon in December in Jaipur.
