Tyrolit Grinding Technologies Private Limited, the Indian subsidiary of Austrian abrasives giant Tyrolit Group, has officially commenced construction of its first manufacturing facility in India. The groundbreaking ceremony took place on 16th June 2025 at Pisoli Road in Kondhwa BK, Pune, marking a significant milestone in Tyrolit’s commitment to expanding its footprint in the Indian market and contributing to the nation’s ‘Make in India’ initiative.
The event was attended by prominent figures from the company and the industry, including Nilesh Nazre, Managing Director of Tyrolit Grinding Technologies, Saachhin Kokane, Regional Business Head – India & Middle East of Tyrolit Group, Rajib Banerjee, Sales Head – India of Tyrolit Group, Pravin Shirse, Director of Indian Cutting Tool Manufacturers’ Association (ICTMA) & President of Oerlikon India, Mangesh Awate, General Manager of ZECHA India and Pushpa Sagar, agent and distributor partner of Tyrolit Group.
Speaking at the ceremony, Nilesh Nazre emphasised, “This facility underlines Tyrolit’s belief in India’s manufacturing potential. Local production will enable us to respond more swiftly to customer needs and deliver solutions tailored to India’s growing manufacturing and metalworking industries.” The new facility is poised to include state-of-the-art production lines, in-house quality control labs, and dedicated technical support services. By localising production, Tyrolit aims to reduce lead times, enhance customisation capabilities, and further solidify its market presence across key industrial segments, including precision machining, metal fabrication, and construction.
This strategic move is expected to create new employment opportunities in the region and foster technological advancements in India’s abrasives and grinding solutions sector. The facility aligns with Tyrolit’s global vision of sustainable growth and innovation, ensuring high standards of quality while catering to the unique demands of the Indian market.
