Trützschler India Private Limited, a German textile machinery firm Trützschler subsidiary, officially opened its new production facility in Sanand GIDC. The plant was inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Gujarat, Bhupendrabhai Patel. During the event, company representative Dr Schürenkämper shared insights into Trützschler’s journey—from its early days to its current operations and growth in India. He acknowledged the state government’s support in enabling the company to set up the plant swiftly and efficiently.

Dr Schürenkämper emphasised the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality textile machinery, noting that the loyalty and trust of Indian clients had motivated the firm to strengthen its presence in the country. Trützschler’s leadership from India and Germany, along with company executives and staff, attended the inauguration.

Trützschler entered the Indian market in 1977 under the name “Trumac,” based in Ahmedabad. Initially, the firm focused on supplying blow room machinery. By 1992, carding machines were added to the product line, followed by draw frames in 2002. In 2009, the company began delivering its global machine range to Indian clients under the Trützschler name, marking a major step toward aligning its Indian operations with international standards.

Today, Trützschler India manages manufacturing, sales, project planning, and nationwide service independently. The newly expanded Sanand plant covers 36,000 square meters and includes significant upgrades in infrastructure and technology. This development aligns with the company’s global production framework.

The facility is equipped with high-performance machinery, including Trumpf laser cutters, Weinbrenner and Hueller Hille CNC equipment, DMG and Mazak turn-mill centres, and a GEMA powder coating system. These additions have boosted output and streamlined production to match global efficiency benchmarks.

The plant also houses a dedicated division for card clothing, featuring precision machines for pin setting, grinding, and profile wire production to meet growing domestic and international demand. Trützschler India has implemented lean manufacturing principles and the ‘5S’ methodology to optimize workflows, reduce waste, and increase productivity.

The introduction of quality circles, daily progress reviews, and cross-functional collaboration on the factory floor has led to improvements across the board. The facility is ISO 9001:2008 certified and continues to focus on maintaining high standards. Alongside its primary focus on spinning preparation and card clothing, Trützschler India also contributes to the country’s nonwovens business.
