TruAlt Bioenergy Wins ₹390 Crore Order for Bioethanol Supply

TruAlt Bioenergy has received an order worth over ₹390 crore to supply nearly 6 crore liters of bioethanol to major Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) like Hindustan Petroleum, Bharat Petroleum, Indian Oil, and Mangalore Refineries.

This supply will happen from August to October 2024 and represents about 10% of the total order of 66 crore liters from the OMCs. TruAlt Bioenergy is increasing its production capacity to 20 lakh liters per day and plans to use both maize and damaged grains for making bioethanol.

Besides bioethanol, the company is also expanding into Compressed Biogas (CBG) and aims to set up at least 24 CBG plants across India. This includes a partnership with GAIL to build 10 CBG plants. TruAlt is also looking into Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) and 2G chemicals.

Vijay Nirani, the Founder and Managing Director, stated that their mission started with the National Biofuels Policy, aiming to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. He believes there is great potential in the biofuels sector, and they are proud to contribute to this progress.
