Trontek Electronics will unveil its 5 MWh EKOM containerised Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) at The Battery Show India 2026, marking the company’s entry into large-scale energy storage for industrial and utility applications. The company will showcase the system at Stall C16, Hall 18, at India Expo Mart & Centre in Greater Noida from October 22 to 24, 2026. The launch extends Trontek’s battery technology and manufacturing experience into applications beyond electric mobility.
The EKOM platform is designed to address larger energy storage requirements as India expands its renewable energy capacity and seeks greater flexibility in power management. Battery energy storage systems can help manage variations in electricity supply and demand, support renewable energy integration and improve the use of stored power across industrial and utility operations.
Trontek has more than two decades of experience in battery technology and manufacturing. The company currently has an active manufacturing capacity of 3 GWh and plans to increase this to 12 GWh by 2028. The proposed expansion is intended to support its growing presence across mobility, distributed energy and large-scale storage markets.
Samrath S Kochar, Founder and CEO of Trontek, said energy storage would play an important role in meeting India’s future power requirements. He said the EKOM launch would extend the company’s battery expertise into large-scale applications while supporting the development of domestic energy storage capabilities. At the exhibition, Trontek will present its products across three business areas: electric mobility, energy storage, and power and critical infrastructure solutions.
Its electric mobility portfolio includes battery solutions for two-wheelers, three-wheelers and other mobility applications. Under energy storage, the company offers POWERCUBE for residential applications, NOVARA for commercial facilities and EKOM for industrial and utility-scale requirements. The newly unveiled 5 MWh system will form part of the EKOM range. The company will also display inverter and solar solutions for distributed energy applications, along with battery systems for telecom infrastructure and backup power requirements.
Trontek’s expanded portfolio reflects its move towards a broader energy technology business, supported by Indian engineering and manufacturing capabilities. The company aims to develop products for residential, commercial, industrial and utility customers as demand for energy storage increases.
The EKOM unveiling marks a new phase in Trontek’s business development as it seeks to build manufacturing scale and expand its participation in India’s changing energy landscape. Its planned capacity increase to 12 GWh by 2028 forms a key part of this strategy.
