Indofast Energy, one of India’s leading battery-swapping networks, has teamed up with Green Tiger Mobility, a player in retrofitting two-wheelers, to speed up the country’s shift to electric mobility. This groundbreaking collaboration addresses the over 300 million petrol two-wheelers in India, offering a cost-effective, eco-friendly, and smooth retrofit solution. The initiative makes it easier and more affordable for millions of riders to adopt electric vehicles (EVs).
This innovative approach enables riders to convert their petrol two-wheelers to electric vehicles with Green Tiger Mobility’s ARAI-approved conversion kits. Once converted, riders can take advantage of Indofast Energy’s expansive battery-swapping network, removing worries about range anxiety and lengthy charging times.
The process is hassle-free, including RTO approvals, insurance, and other regulatory aspects at a fixed cost. The conversion is financially accessible, with an affordable down payment and easy EMIs that savings can cover from switching to electric. This makes EV adoption more economical than ever. The solution currently supports the top 11 best-selling scooter models, including Hero (Maestro & Pleasure), Honda (Activa, Aviator, Dio, and Cliq), Suzuki (Access & Swish), TVS (Jupiter & Wego), and Yamaha (Fascino).
Currently available in Bangalore, the service will be rolled out in Delhi NCR by May, with plans to expand nationwide within 12 to 15 months. The initial focus will be on delivery executives in quick commerce, providing them with an affordable, sustainable alternative to petrol-powered vehicles, followed by a broader market offering.
Rajat Malhan, Senior Vice President of Indofast Energy, said, “Imagine your trusty petrol scooter transformed into a sleek, battery-swappable EV. No need to buy a new vehicle—just an easy, sustainable upgrade! This partnership marks a major step toward cleaner, greener mobility, helping reduce fuel costs, cut emissions, and contribute to India’s EV adoption goals.”
