TP Solar Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) and operator of India’s largest single-location solar manufacturing facility, has won a contract from the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) for the supply of 292.5 MWp Domestic Content Requirement (DCR) solar modules. This project, awarded under the CPSU Scheme Tranche-III, marks a significant step in TP Solar’s contribution to India’s renewable energy transition.

Valued at ₹632 crore, the contract calls for the delivery of high-quality DCR solar modules to a project site in Ramagiri, Andhra Pradesh. This agreement is part of SECI’s broader 400 MWp tender, which involved a competitive bidding process, including an e-Reverse Auction. Of the 400 MWp modules, TP Solar secured the largest portion with 292.5 MWp.

This achievement highlights TP Solar’s advanced manufacturing capabilities and its alignment with India’s ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ initiative, which promotes the use of domestically produced solar modules. Through this contract, TP Solar supports India’s clean energy goals and contributes to the large-scale deployment of solar power across the nation. The project is expected to be completed between October 2025 and January 2026, over a four-month period.

Sivakumar V Vepakomma, Director of Power Systems at SECI, stated, “The CPSU Scheme is a key initiative for strengthening domestic solar manufacturing and improving India’s energy security. By awarding this contract to TP Solar, we take a significant step toward self-reliance in the solar industry, ensuring that large-scale renewable projects utilize high-quality, locally produced modules. Tata Power’s expertise and commitment to excellence align with our vision for accelerating India’s clean energy transition while promoting indigenous manufacturing. This project will help achieve the country’s renewable energy targets, create economic opportunities, and support the long-term sustainability of the solar sector.”

This achievement reinforces TP Solar’s dedication to driving progress in renewable energy through innovative solutions. By utilizing cutting-edge technology and sustainable practices, the company continues to play an important role in India’s energy transformation, contributing to a cleaner, more self-sufficient future.
