TP Solar Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Tata Power Renewable Energy Ltd. (TPREL), has secured a contract with the Maharashtra State Power Generation Company Limited (MSPGCL) to provide 300 MWp of ALMM-certified solar modules for the Mukhyamantri Saur Krushi Vahini Yojana (MSKVY) 2.0 project. Valued at approximately ₹455 crore, this agreement highlights TP Solar’s position as a trusted supplier of high-quality solar modules in India. The modules will be delivered across multiple locations in Maharashtra within the year, as part of MSPGCL’s larger 750 MWp tender awarded through a competitive e-Reverse Auction process.
TP Solar operates India’s largest integrated solar cell and module manufacturing plant in Tirunelveli, Tamil Nadu, with a capacity of 4.3 gigawatts (GW) for both cells and modules. This state-of-the-art facility, developed with an investment of ₹4,300 crore, represents a significant stride toward indigenizing the solar value chain and bolstering self-sufficiency in manufacturing. The plant utilizes advanced TOPCon and Mono PERC technologies to produce ALMM-certified and DCR modules using domestically manufactured cells. TP Solar’s efforts align with India’s Net-Zero carbon goals, reinforcing its leadership in the rooftop and utility-scale solar sectors while advancing the nation’s energy transition.
