Toyota Technical Training Institute (TTTI) has opened admissions for its 2025–2028 training program, reaffirming its focus on skill development and community advancement. The initiative is tailored for academically strong youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds in Karnataka, offering them a pathway to become globally competitive technicians through a fully sponsored, industry-aligned training program supported by Toyota Kirloskar Motor.

Founded in 2007, TTTI has set a benchmark for vocational education in India. The institute offers a three-year, fully residential program with specializations in Automobile Assembly, Welding, Painting, and Mechatronics. The curriculum balances technical instruction with personal development, structured around 60% focus on attitude and behavior, 20% on theoretical knowledge, and 20% on practical skills—preparing students not just for employment, but for excellence in modern manufacturing environments.

In 2023, TTTI doubled its annual student intake from 600 to 1,200, with half of the seats now reserved for female candidates to promote gender balance in technical fields. Infrastructure upgrades, including new classrooms, advanced training tools, and dedicated accommodations for female students, support this expanded intake. A monthly stipend is also provided to help reduce financial barriers for students.

G Shankara, Executive Vice President of Finance and Administration at Toyota Kirloskar Motor, emphasized that empowering individuals with the right opportunities drives real progress. He noted that TTTI plays a key role in building a skilled and inclusive workforce aligned with India’s manufacturing growth objectives and the national Skill India Mission.

TTTI is also recognized under the Japan-India Institute for Manufacturing (JIM) initiative, which promotes the adoption of Japanese manufacturing techniques and work culture. In addition, the institute is accredited by the Automotive Skill Development Council (ASDC) and the Directorate General of Training (DGT). TTTI students regularly participate and excel in skill competitions at national and international levels, including the WorldSkills, where they have earned multiple honors in disciplines such as Mechatronics, Prototype Modelling, and Additive Manufacturing. Most recently, in 2024, a TTTI student was awarded for sustainable practices. TTTI continues to contribute significantly to India’s technical education landscape by developing future-ready professionals equipped to meet global manufacturing standards.
