Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has invited Toyota Motor Corporation to consider Madhya Pradesh as a prime location for setting up facilities and enhancing youth training in technical fields. Highlighting the state’s investor-friendly policies, skilled workforce, and strategic central location, Yadav made a strong pitch to the Japanese automaker during his visit to Japan.

In a meeting with Toyota’s senior leadership, including Toshiyuki Nakahara, Department General Manager of the India and Middle East Division, and Masahiro Nogi, Project General Manager, Yadav emphasized the state’s abundant opportunities for automotive investments. He also showcased the Pithampur Auto Cluster, a key industrial hub offering significant prospects for businesses.

“Madhya Pradesh is an ideal destination for Toyota with its vast land, skilled youth, excellent infrastructure, and a growing automobile sector,” Yadav said in a post on X. He highlighted the state’s capability to produce 50,000 technically trained youth annually through its 52 private and 17 government engineering colleges.

Toyota leadership acknowledged Madhya Pradesh as an “important state” and expressed interest in strengthening its relationship with the region. They discussed the company’s existing operations, including its stockyard, dealer network, and sales volumes. Toyota also highlighted its Technical Education Program, aimed at skilling youth in the state, and reiterated its intent to “grow together with India.”

Yadav underscored Madhya Pradesh’s advantages, such as its status as the second-largest manufacturer of trucks and buses and the third-largest producer of cars in India. The state also boasts affordable land, a low-cost skilled workforce, excellent infrastructure, and proximity to key markets, making it a cost-effective choice for automotive manufacturers.

The Chief Minister also pointed out Madhya Pradesh’s robust policy framework, including capital subsidies of up to 40%, and its role as a major export hub. In FY24, the state exported automobiles and auto components worth $191 million to over 200 countries, strengthening its integration with global supply chains.

Leading automakers like Volvo and Mahindra have already established facilities in Madhya Pradesh, and Yadav encouraged Toyota to leverage similar benefits by investing in the state. The invitation comes ahead of the upcoming Global Investor Summit, where Toyota is expected to further evaluate investment opportunities.
