Torrent Electricals has announced plans to invest more than ₹1,000 crore in its newly launched housing wire division over the next few years. The investment will be directed toward scaling up manufacturing capacity, strengthening the distribution network, implementing advanced quality control systems, and boosting brand visibility.
The company recently introduced its housing wire products in Gujarat and intends to expand into other Indian states in a phased manner. As a new player in this rapidly growing segment, Torrent is tapping into increasing electricity demand, including that from renewable energy sources and expanding urban infrastructure.
According to industry estimates, India’s domestic wire and cable market is expected to reach USD 21.22 billion by 2025 and grow to USD 32.85 billion by 2030, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 9.14% between 2025 and 2030. “The housing wire segment is a strategic addition to our product portfolio, aligned with the surge in urban housing and infrastructure activity,” said Sachin Phartiyal, CEO of Torrent Electricals. “We are targeting a strong footprint in this space over the next 12 to 24 months.”
The company is currently focused on strengthening its offline retail presence through a wide dealer and electrician network. In addition, Torrent plans to make its products available on leading online marketplaces like Amazon and Flipkart.
