TKIL Industries, formerly known as thyssenkrupp Industries India, a leader in industrial engineering and manufacturing, has announced its entry into the Bio-Chemicals sector as part of its broader business diversification strategy. The company has formed a strategic partnership with KIS Group, a global frontrunner in sustainable biofuel technology, to advance compressed biogas (CBG) production.
This collaboration aims to support both India’s energy transition and global decarbonization goals. Leveraging KIS Group’s state-of-the-art CBG technology, TKIL Industries plans to enhance production from byproducts such as sugar plant residues, distillery waste, and other biomass, setting the stage for a comprehensive Bio-Chemicals portfolio.
This partnership marks a significant milestone for TKIL Industries as it expands into clean energy solutions, with a focus on fast-tracking the commercialization of CBG. The company’s efforts align with India’s ambitious environmental targets, including reducing carbon emissions by 50% and reaching 500 GW of non-fossil fuel energy capacity by 2030, positioning TKIL Industries as a key player in the green energy transition.
Vivek Bhatia, Managing Director and CEO of TKIL Industries, shared, “As we diversify our business, entering the bio-chemicals sector is a crucial part of our growth strategy. Our collaboration with KIS Group reflects our commitment to sustainable, low-carbon solutions. By combining our strengths, we aim to lead in CBG production and explore other cleaner chemical solutions in the future.”
Raghunath, Founder and CEO of KIS Group, added, “This partnership with TKIL Industries is a step forward in scaling CBG production as a sustainable energy solution. By integrating our advanced technology with TKIL’s industrial expertise, we are poised to drive innovation and support India’s energy transition.”
Anmol Mudholkar, Director of Sugar, Cogen, and Bio-Chemicals at TKIL Industries, further emphasized, “Our collaboration is focused on creating scalable biomass solutions that offer cleaner alternatives for industries, particularly in the sugar, bio-chemicals, and other key sectors.”
The growing global demand for renewable energy is reshaping the industry, with a shift from fossil fuels toward sustainable energy sources. The production of biogas from biomass—such as press mud, spent wash, and animal waste—aligns with India’s renewable energy goals, offering both environmental and economic benefits. As the government continues to support this transition with various policies and initiatives, the adoption of biogas technology is becoming a critical step for industries aiming to improve competitiveness, reduce waste, and contribute to a sustainable future.
KIS Group is a prominent leader in sustainable technologies for biogas, water, and wastewater treatment in Asia, with global recognition. With over 15 years of expertise and a portfolio of more than 50 successful projects across 10+ countries, KIS Group has proven its ability to deliver cutting-edge, efficient, and sustainable solutions.
