Tivolt Electric Vehicles, part of the Murugappa Group’s TI Clean Mobility division, has joined forces with Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL) to expand EV charging infrastructure for commercial vehicles across India. The two companies signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to leverage Tata Power’s expertise in EV charging and Tivolt’s growing presence in the electric small commercial vehicle market.
The MoU was formalized by Saju Nair, CEO of Tivolt Electric Vehicles, and Virendra Goyal, Head of EV Charging Business Development at Tata Power, with Shivram Bikkina, Chief of Solar Rooftop & EV Charging at Tata Power, in attendance. Under the partnership, Tata Power will develop and deploy EV charging solutions at Tivolt dealerships, customer sites, and key public areas.
With its experience in setting up over 200 customized charging stations across 100+ cities, including Mumbai, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Chennai, Tata Power will ensure reliable and strategically located charging options for commercial EV users. The collaboration will also explore integrating solar-powered systems at Tivolt dealerships and customer sites to lower charging costs and reduce carbon footprints, promoting sustainable and cost-effective EV adoption.
Saju Nair highlighted the partnership’s importance, stating, “This collaboration with Tata Power is a significant step in accelerating EV infrastructure development, offering clean and sustainable mobility solutions to our customers.”

Tivolt Electric Vehicles, through its Montra Electric brand, focuses on innovative and sustainable solutions for light commercial vehicles, ensuring reliability and efficiency. Meanwhile, Tata Power’s EZ Charge network already spans over 530 cities, with more than 100,000 home chargers, 6,500 public charging points, and 1,100 bus charging stations. The partnership between Tivolt and Tata Power aims to create a convenient, cost-effective, and eco-friendly charging network, driving India’s shift toward a cleaner, greener transportation future.
