Titagarh Rail Systems Limited (TRSL), a leading manufacturer of railway rolling stock and engineering solutions, is pleased to announce that it has received a Letter of Acceptance (LOA) from Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW), a unit under Indian Railways, for the supply of complete shell assemblies for WAG-9HC locomotives.
The WAG-9HC is a high-horsepower electric freight locomotive designed to meet the increasing demand for heavy-haul operations in India. Under this LOA, TRSL will deliver fully fabricated shell assemblies that form the backbone of these powerful locomotives.
This development marks another milestone in TRSL’s longstanding collaboration with Indian Railways, reinforcing its commitment to supporting the country’s rail infrastructure modernization and indigenization efforts. The Kolkata-based company has recently secured a significant order, following another major achievement in the shipbuilding sector. The company has received a Letter of Intent from Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers Ltd (GRSE), a government-owned shipbuilding entity. This order adds to the company’s growing portfolio of defense and maritime projects, showcasing its capabilities in large-scale ship construction.
Earlier, the company announced that it had won the Letter of Intent from GRSE to construct two ship vessels for a total value of ₹467.25 crore. This order further strengthens its position in the defense and maritime sectors, reflecting its ability to handle complex and high-value projects. The vessels are designed to meet the needs of specialized maritime operations, which is a testament to the company’s expertise in advanced shipbuilding.
These two vessels, to be built for GRSE, are specifically intended for use by the Geological Survey of India (GSI). The collaboration with GRSE marks a significant step in the company’s efforts to support India’s defense and geological exploration initiatives.
