Time Technoplast Limited has reached a major technological and commercial milestone with the successful design, integration, and flight testing of a hydrogen-powered unmanned aerial vehicle developed entirely in-house. The drone operates using a hydrogen fuel cell system paired with the company’s Type-III fully wrapped composite hydrogen storage cylinder, marking a significant step forward in clean-energy aviation.

The prototype has completed its initial round of performance and validation trials, achieving the intended benchmarks for endurance, payload capacity, and operational stability. The results confirm the system’s readiness for further development and commercial evaluation.

This achievement represents the first instance in India where domestically manufactured composite hydrogen cylinders have been successfully integrated with a fuel cell–based unmanned aerial platform. The development establishes a scalable platform for future deployment across a range of use cases, including civil surveillance, industrial operations, logistics, and defence applications.

The milestone builds on Time Technoplast’s recent accomplishments in hydrogen storage technology. The company is the first Indian manufacturer to receive approval from the Petroleum and Explosives Safety Organization (PESO) for Type-III composite hydrogen cylinders. In addition, the project follows the memorandum of understanding signed with Drone Stark Technologies Private Limited, which was announced on August 7, 2025.

The programme has been completed and validated within the originally committed timelines, underscoring Time Technoplast’s execution capabilities and its ability to translate advanced clean-energy concepts into practical, deployable solutions. By combining expertise in composite materials, hydrogen storage, and system integration, the company has positioned itself at the leading edge of emerging hydrogen-powered mobility platforms.

This development opens access to a rapidly expanding application segment for composite hydrogen storage systems and reinforces Time Technoplast’s strategic focus on clean-energy technologies with strong commercial potential.
