The three-day TiE Global Summit (TGS) 2024, held in Bengaluru and concluding in Mysuru on December 12, made a significant mark on the entrepreneurial landscape. With the theme Putting Entrepreneurship First, the event saw active participation from entrepreneurs, investors, industry leaders, policymakers, and academia, fostering innovation and collaboration across sectors.
Organized by TiE Bangalore, with the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM) and the Government of Karnataka as key partners, the summit was co-hosted by MeitY, India AI Mission, and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). It received support from notable organizations like Invest Karnataka, SBI, Amazon, IBM, Chiratae Ventures, Kalaari Capital, and others.
The TGS100 Initiative spotlighted groundbreaking startups, with over 1,300 applications from 17 countries. Breer Limited, recognized for its innovation in converting food waste into beer, won the top prize of ₹35 lakhs. Takeme2space and Proleri Technologies secured the second and third positions, showcasing advancements in aerospace and agritech, respectively. This program underscored the summit’s focus on nurturing global innovation.
The TiE Women Global Pitch Competition celebrated the entrepreneurial spirit of women worldwide, drawing over 3,100 entries from 62 countries. The winners included Teri Sirset of DASI Simulations, who took home ₹25,000; Adithi Aji of Adrich, Inc., awarded ₹15,000; and Irena King of Surgicure Technologies, earning ₹10,000. This competition highlighted the diverse and impactful contributions of women entrepreneurs to global industries.
Antar Prerana Global 2024 brought a unique blend of ancient wisdom and modern entrepreneurial practices, with sessions emphasizing inner transformation and actionable strategies. Themes such as Empowering We Can and Implementing I Will provided attendees with insights into balancing personal growth and professional impact. These sessions encouraged participants to integrate mindfulness with their business aspirations.
The summit also witnessed strategic collaborations and engaging discussions. A Letter of Intent was signed between the Karnataka government and the New Jersey Department of State to enhance cooperation in deep tech, life sciences, and semiconductors. Industry panels delved into scaling family offices, venture capital trends, and startup investments, with Kris Gopalakrishnan emphasizing the role of startups in driving India’s innovation economy. The Futurepreneurs Conclave offered valuable insights into mentorship, investment strategies, and scaling opportunities, fostering a dynamic environment for emerging entrepreneurs.
