TiE Global Summit 2024: Celebrating Innovation and Cultural Entrepreneurship in Mysuru

Srikanth Bolla, Chairman & CEO of Bollant Industries, was honored with The Unstoppable Award - Global at TiE Global Summit 2024, celebrating his resilience and visionary leadership.

The TiE Global Summit 2024 concluded in Mysuru, capping off four days of insightful discussions, innovation showcases, and a celebration of India’s cultural heritage. The summit, which began in Bengaluru and ended with a grand ceremony at the Mysore Palace, provided a platform for exploring global entrepreneurial opportunities while honoring Indian traditions. Organized by TiE Bangalore, the event was supported by Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), the Government of Karnataka, and co-hosted by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), MeitY Startup Hub, India AI Mission, and Software Technology Parks of India (STPI).

The summit’s highlight was the TiE Global Awards, recognizing entrepreneurial excellence across 18 categories. These awards celebrated outstanding contributions from individuals, startups, and organizations shaping the global innovation ecosystem. Among the honorees, Hiroshi Mikitani (Founder & CEO of Rakuten), Anu Aga (Thermax), and Eric Yuan (CEO of Zoom Communications) received the Spirit of TiE Awards for their impact on entrepreneurship and innovation. Notable accolades included ANTLER as the Best Global Incubator/Accelerator, Harvard University as the Best University Promoting Entrepreneurship, and Amazon as the Best Corporate Supporting Startups. The Israel Innovation Authority and Invest India were also recognized for their contributions to startup ecosystems.

The Unicorn/Startup Awards showcased groundbreaking innovations, with Revolut winning the Most Innovative Startup award, Grammarly honored for its global success as a bootstrapped startup, and Mankind Pharma celebrated for its regional achievements. Melanie Perkins (Canva) and UpasanaTaku (MobiKwik) were acknowledged as Trailblazing Women Entrepreneurs, while SrikanthBolla received the Unstoppable Award for his resilience and accomplishments.

Cultural Entrepreneurship was a unique feature of the final day, focusing on the integration of art, tourism, and heritage into the entrepreneurial landscape. Speakers such as Nand Kishore Choudhary (Jaipur Rugs), Vinay Parameswarappa (Gully Tours), and PayalNath (Kadam) shared their insights, alongside inspiring pitches by social entrepreneurs like Sahar Mansoor (Bare Necessities). Noted artist and sculptor Dr. ArunYogiraj also participated, offering his perspective on the intersection of culture and innovation.

The grand finale of the TiE Global Summit at the Mysore Palace included cultural performances by Ananya Bhat and her team, culminating in a ceremonial baton-passing to TiE Rajasthan, which will host the next summit in Jaipur in 2025. Leaders such as Amit Gupta (Chair, TiE Global), Madan Padaki (President, TiE Bangalore), and Dr. Deepak Chopra (Chief Guest) led the celebrations, marking the transition to the next chapter of TiE’s global entrepreneurial journey.
