Thrust Capital Partners (TCP), a Canadian private equity firm focused exclusively on the aerospace and defense industry supply chain, today announced the acquisition of Alphacasting Inc, a Quebec-based leader in precision titanium and aluminum investment casting serving global aerospace and defense customers. Founded in 1991, Alphacasting has established itself as a trusted supplier of highly complex, precision-engineered castings for critical aerospace and defense applications. The company’s advanced manufacturing capabilities include a broad range of alloy solutions, with expertise in high-strength aluminum castings and a unique distinction as the only Canadian foundry with titanium casting capabilities.
As part of the transaction, Louis Marc Pinard, former Chief Operating Officer of AP&C, a GE Aerospace company, will join Alphacasting as Chief Executive Officer and partner with TCP to lead the company’s next phase of growth.
“Joining Alphacasting represents an exciting opportunity to build on the company’s strong foundation, exceptional technical expertise, and reputation as a trusted global supplier,” said Louis Marc Pinard, CEO of Alphacasting. “The company has developed world-class capabilities and a highly skilled team. Together, we will continue to enhance operational excellence, strengthen customer partnerships, and create sustainable long-term value.”
Frederik Centazzo, who played a key role in growing Alphacasting alongside his father, Arduino Centazzo, will remain with the company as Vice President of Sales & Business Development, continuing to support customer relationships and future market expansion. “Under the leadership of the Centazzo family, Alphacasting has become a recognized partner within the global precision casting ecosystem,” said Frédéric Loiselle, Partner at Thrust Capital Partners. “TCP’s investment will provide additional resources, strategic support, and industry expertise to help the company expand its capabilities and reinforce its position in the aerospace and defense sector.”
The acquisition reflects TCP’s commitment to supporting the growth of Canadian aerospace and defense companies by providing capital, operational expertise, and strategic guidance to help emerging leaders compete globally. Norton Rose Fulbright Canada LLP and KPMG LLP served as legal and tax advisors to TCP, respectively. Spiegel Ryan LLP and MNP Corporate Finance Inc. acted as legal and financial advisors to the sellers, respectively.
Thrust Capital Partners is the first Canadian private equity fund dedicated exclusively to the aerospace and defense industry supply chain. Managed by a team with extensive aerospace and defense expertise, TCP partners with small and medium-sized enterprises across Québec and Canada to accelerate growth, strengthen capabilities, and support their evolution into global industry leaders.
