Thermocool Home Appliances Ltd plans to invest approximately ₹40 crore in a new manufacturing facility in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, to increase production capacity, strengthen backward integration and expand its product portfolio. The proposed facility will cover approximately two acres, with a built-up area of 40,000 to 60,000 square feet. It is expected to manufacture air coolers, fans and small appliances, with planned annual production capacities of 3–4 lakh air coolers, 3–5 lakh fans and 1–2 lakh small appliances.
The expansion is intended to give the company greater control over production, product quality and supply-chain operations as it increases its presence across the Indian home appliances market. The facility will also incorporate semi-automation, artificial intelligence-based quality control and sustainable manufacturing practices.
Tushar Gupta, Director of Operations at Thermocool Home Appliances Ltd said, “The proposed manufacturing facility is an important step in strengthening our production capabilities and supporting our long-term growth plans. We are focusing on greater backward integration and building a manufacturing ecosystem that allows us to respond more efficiently to changing consumer demand. The facility will also support our efforts to expand our product portfolio and strengthen our presence across key markets.”
Thermocool currently operates a 25,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Ghaziabad, where it produces approximately 2,000–3,000 air coolers per day. The company expects daily production to increase by around 25% to 35% as it strengthens its existing manufacturing capabilities.
Air coolers remain a major part of Thermocool’s portfolio, which includes more than 200 stock-keeping units across large and small appliance categories. The company has achieved approximately 90% backward integration in air-cooler manufacturing, enabling greater control over production processes.
Tanuj Gupta, Director of Sales at Thermocool Home Appliances Ltd, said the changing home appliances market is creating demand for products that combine performance, affordability and reliability. He added that the manufacturing expansion would help the company respond to evolving consumer requirements while strengthening distribution and market reach.
Thermocool currently has more than 300 distributors and a presence in approximately 5,000 retail stores across India. It is also expanding its visibility through e-commerce and digital commerce platforms. As part of its product diversification strategy, the company is preparing to enter the air-conditioner segment and is evaluating opportunities in washing machines, refrigerators and televisions. The proposed facility is expected to support these plans by increasing manufacturing capacity and providing a base for future portfolio expansion.
