Thermax Group Reports 8% Revenue Growth in Q3 FY ’25

Thermax Group, a key player in energy transition and environmental solutions, achieved a consolidated operating revenue of Rs. 2,508 crore in the third quarter of FY 2024-25, marking an 8% growth compared to Rs. 2,324 crore in the same period last year. The company posted a consolidated profit after tax (PAT) of Rs. 114 crore, a 52% decline from Rs. 237 crore in Q3 FY 2024, which included a one-time gain of Rs. 126 crore from the sale of a vacant land parcel.

Profit before tax (PBT) and exceptional items stood at Rs. 156 crore, down 15% from the previous year’s Rs. 183 crore. The decline in margins in certain Industrial Infra orders and changes in the product mix within the Chemicals segment impacted the results for the quarter.

As of December 31, 2024, Thermax’s order balance was Rs. 11,383 crore, a 6% increase over the Rs. 10,717 crore recorded a year ago. However, the order booking for Q3 was Rs. 2,296 crore, down by 8% from Rs. 2,506 crore in the same quarter last year.

On a standalone basis, Thermax Limited reported operating revenue of Rs. 1,453 crore, a 2% drop compared to Rs. 1,480 crore in the same quarter of FY 2024. The standalone PAT was Rs. 103 crore, down 49% from Rs. 201 crore, which included the previous year’s exceptional gain.

In terms of order bookings, Thermax saw a strong 43% growth, reaching Rs. 1,647 crore compared to Rs. 1,154 crore in Q3 of FY 2024. The order balance on December 31, 2024, stood at Rs. 6,493 crore, a 4% increase over Rs. 6,258 crore in the previous year.

During the quarter, Thermax acquired 100% of Buildtech Products India Pvt. Ltd., a manufacturer of admixtures, accelerators, and capsules for tunnels, infrastructure, and railway projects. This acquisition strengthens Thermax’s position in the construction chemicals sector.
