The Institution of Engineers (India) [IEI] is preparing to host the 17th IEI Industry Excellence Awards 2024 on December 19 at the Novotel Hotel & Residences, Kolkata. This landmark event will recognize organizations that have demonstrated exceptional innovation, operational excellence, and leadership in shaping the future of India’s engineering landscape. With a record number of nominations across various categories this year, the awards continue to highlight the growing competitiveness and ingenuity within India’s engineering sector.
Since 2008, the IEI Industry Excellence Awards have been a symbol of distinction, honoring organizations that set benchmarks in productivity, quality, safety, and sustainability. The awards are conferred after a thorough review of a company’s business operations, financial performance, environmental initiatives, research and development efforts, corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities, and governance policies. This rigorous evaluation process ensures that the winners exemplify the best of India’s engineering and industrial capabilities.
This year’s awards will recognize achievements across three major categories: Engineering Manufacturing and Processing (EMP), Engineering Services and Consultancy (ESC), and Engineering Organizations in the Construction Industry (ECI). Each category is further divided into subcategories based on turnover, providing equal opportunities for both MSMEs and large corporations to showcase their accomplishments.
The 4th edition of the IEI Engineering Education Excellence Awards 2024 will also be presented alongside the Industry Excellence Awards, honoring outstanding contributions to engineering education and research. These awards celebrate achievements in areas such as Best Engineering Institution and Excellence in Research and Development, highlighting institutions that set benchmarks in outstanding teaching and innovative practices.
The selection process for the awards remains rigorous, with nominees undergoing detailed evaluations against a set of stringent criteria. Separate committees are overseeing this process. The 17th edition of the Industrial awards promises an engaging event with sessions designed to foster collaboration and innovation. An Industry-Academia Interface will bring together thought leaders to discuss synergies between research and practical applications. Additionally, an exclusive B2B forum will provide opportunities for networking and strategic partnerships. The eminent jury members for the awards committee hail from various parts of India.

The Institution of Engineers, established in 1920 and incorporated under the Royal Charter in 1935, is India’s largest multidisciplinary professional body of engineers.
