Under the terms of this contract, Thales will implement the APOC at airports in Mumbai, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Jaipur, Lucknow, Mangaluru, and Thiruvananthapuram. Since early 2024, the company has already introduced its Fly to Gate solution at these airports, marking a significant step toward modernizing airport operations.
The APOC platform is poised to revolutionize airport management by consolidating all essential applications into a single, cloud-based smart digital platform. This integration aims to enhance overall operational efficiency, bolster security protocols, and elevate the passenger experience. By centralizing the necessary applications, the APOC will streamline processes, ensuring that each airport can operate seamlessly and efficiently.
One of the key features of the APOC platform is its ability to gather operational data from various integrated subsystems and sensors installed throughout the airports. The data collected will then undergo intelligent processing through automation, advanced big data analytics, and robust Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms. Currently, these seven airports are also equipped with DigiYatra, a biometric solution powered by Thales’ Fly to Gate technology. This innovative system allows pre-enrolled passengers to experience a smoother travel journey by eliminating the need to repeatedly present identification and boarding passes at each checkpoint, from check-in to boarding.
By doing so, the processing time for passengers can be reduced by up to 30%, aligning with the Indian government’s vision of a Digital India and promoting a more efficient travel experience.
