Thales has inaugurated a new avionics maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Gurugram, near New Delhi’s airport. This initiative aligns with the “Aatmanirbhar Bharat” vision, promoting self-reliance in India’s aviation sector. The facility will provide comprehensive repair and maintenance services for avionics components, supporting leading Indian airlines such as Air India and IndiGo. Leveraging Thales’s global expertise in aerospace technology, this centre aims to deliver top-tier support to Indian airline operators.
The launch event was attended by Honourable Minister of Civil Aviation Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu, alongside Damien Syed, Deputy Head of Mission, Embassy of France in India, senior government officials, and distinguished representatives from the French Embassy and aviation industry. Representing Thales at the event were Yannick Assouad, Executive Vice President of Avionics; Thomas Got, Vice President of Aviation Global Services; and Gilles Bono, Vice President, India. This development marks a key milestone in Thales’s long-term investment in India’s rapidly growing aviation industry.
Speaking at the event, Shri Kinjarapu Rammohan Naidu expressed his appreciation for Thales’s commitment to enhancing India’s aviation capabilities. “I commend Thales for establishing this dedicated MRO facility, which strengthens onshore maintenance capabilities for Indian airlines. After touring the facility, I am highly impressed with its meticulous design and cutting-edge technology. The launch of this centre is a pivotal step towards a self-reliant aviation ecosystem, aligning with the vision of our Honourable Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Ji. Thales exemplifies the strong collaboration between India and France, and I am confident that together, we will harness India’s vast talent pool to support the nation’s aviation growth.”
