TESLA Group as a leading name in energy storage technology, has entered into a major partnership with SRAM & MRAM Group, a multinational conglomerate with a focus on sustainability and technological development. The two companies have finalized a landmark agreement valued at over $1 billion to establish more than 20 large-scale battery production facilities across the globe—including five key locations in India.
This partnership aims to significantly scale up the global battery supply chain, supporting cleaner transportation and renewable energy integration. The giga factories will play a central role in accelerating progress toward climate targets outlined in the Paris Agreement, including reducing global greenhouse gas emissions by 43% by 2030 and capping global warming at 1.5°C.
The planned manufacturing hubs will be built in multiple strategic regions including Slovakia, Romania, Bulgaria, and various states across India—such as Maharashtra, Telangana, Gujarat, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Jharkhand. Additional locations include Texas and Florida in the U.S., Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia), Oman, Brazil, UAE, Cambodia, Australia, and Nigeria. Site selections were based on local clean energy potential, favorable government support, and growing demand for energy storage and electric vehicles.
Each facility will cover approximately 500 acres and will include a fully integrated battery production and storage system. The giga factories are expected to employ up to 100,000 people each. Under this collaboration, SRAM & MRAM Group will take the lead on securing regulatory approvals, local incentives, and strategic partnerships. Meanwhile, TESLA Group a.s. will handle engineering, facility design, and project execution.
“This alliance marks a turning point in global energy transformation,” said Nanda K Bhagi, President of TESLA Group as. “It’s not just about building infrastructure—it’s about empowering communities, creating sustainable jobs, and laying the foundation for a cleaner future. Our advanced storage technologies, combined with SRAM’s global reach, will make a real impact.”
Dr Sailesh L Hiranandani, Chairman of SRAM & MRAM Group, echoed this vision: “We’re proud to be part of a mission that merges innovation with long-term sustainability. Together with TESLA Group a.s., we’re establishing energy solutions that will power industries and homes while opening doors to economic growth in more than 20 countries.”
In India, the five planned giga factories will support the country’s ambitious Net Zero goal for 2070. These facilities will also align with government efforts to promote renewable energy, improve efficiency in the power sector, and expand green hydrogen development. As a result, India will be better positioned as a leading force in the global clean energy space.
This large-scale initiative reflects the shared commitment of both companies to address the climate crisis, advance clean technology, and build lasting, energy-resilient infrastructure around the world.
