Teradyne, Inc (NASDAQ: TER), a provider of automated test equipment and advanced robotics, has opened a new office in Bengaluru, Karnataka, focused on supporting India’s growing semiconductor manufacturing and electronics ecosystem. The new facility formalises Teradyne’s expanding presence in the country and reinforces its long-term commitment to India as investments in semiconductor fabrication, packaging and testing gather momentum.

Located at Vesta Building, Bagmane Cosmos Tech Park, the Bengaluru office will serve as Teradyne’s local hub for customer engagement, applications support, training and strategic partnerships. The facility is intended to strengthen the company’s ability to work closely with chipmakers, electronics manufacturers, government stakeholders and other participants in India’s semiconductor value chain.

The opening comes as demand for semiconductor technologies continues to expand across the AI ecosystem, from wafer manufacturing to data centres. India is also advancing domestic semiconductor capabilities through the India Semiconductor Mission, which is supporting investment in fabrication and manufacturing infrastructure.

“India is at an inflection point in its semiconductor journey and establishing a permanent office in Bengaluru reflects our long-term commitment to this market,” said Greg Smith, President and CEO of Teradyne. “As India accelerates investment in domestic fabrication, packaging, and test capabilities, we intend to be a trusted partner to our customers, our government partners, and the broader ecosystem every step of the way. Establishing a local presence will help us move at the speed this industry demands.”

The Bengaluru operation forms part of Teradyne’s broader India strategy, led by Country Manager Alpa Sood. The company intends to deepen its engagement with India’s expanding base of semiconductor and electronics manufacturers as the country develops high-volume manufacturing, packaging and test capabilities.

Amitesh Kumar Sinha, Chief Executive Officer, India Semiconductor Mission, and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, said, “Teradyne’s decision to establish a permanent office in India is a strong vote of confidence in India’s semiconductor growth story. As India scales its semiconductor fabrication, packaging, and test capabilities, the presence of a global leader such as Teradyne will further strengthen the semiconductor value chain and contribute to the development of a robust semiconductor manufacturing ecosystem in the country.”

Teradyne marked the office opening with a celebration on September 15, attended by company executives, government officials, customers and industry partners from across India’s semiconductor ecosystem. The company is also participating in SEMICON India 2026 in New Delhi from September 17 to 19 at Booth #1333. Teradyne’s semiconductor and electronics test solutions address requirements across the AI device supply chain, while its advanced robotics portfolio supports automation in manufacturing, logistics and data centre operations. With its new Bengaluru office, Teradyne is expanding its local capabilities to support customers as India builds its domestic semiconductor manufacturing infrastructure and strengthens its position in the global electronics value chain.
