Tenneco Clean Air India Limited has launched ‘Vriksharopan Abhiyan’, a large-scale tree plantation initiative, at the premises of the 15th Battalion of the Jat Regiment in Lullanagar, Pune. The initiative, undertaken in collaboration with the Battalion and Vaghmi Foundation, involves the plantation of 5,000 saplings along with an 18-month maintenance programme to ensure long-term survival and growth.

The launch event was attended by senior leadership from Tenneco Clean Air India, officers and personnel from the 15th Battalion of the Jat Regiment, and representatives of the Vaghmi Foundation. The programme reflects the company’s continued engagement in environmental conservation and community-based initiatives.

Rishi Verma, President, Tenneco India, said the initiative aligns with the company’s broader focus on supporting India’s environmental priorities. He stated that the emphasis is on creating sustainable green cover through structured plantation practices, ongoing care and scientific monitoring, with the objective of delivering long-term ecological benefits for local communities.

As part of the programme, each sapling will be tagged and documented to enable systematic tracking, survival assessment and quarterly reporting by the Vaghmi Foundation. Employees from Tenneco and the Foundation will remain engaged through periodic follow-up visits, reinforcing shared responsibility for environmental stewardship.
