Tembo Defence announced that the Maharashtra government has committed to providing 100 acres of land in Amravati for the establishment of a new arms and ammunition manufacturing plant. The Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has issued a letter of assurance regarding the land allocation, marking a significant step for the company.
Tembo Global Industries, the parent company of Tembo Defence, specializes in producing and assembling metal components for various industries, including pipe support systems, fasteners, anchors, HVAC, and anti-vibration equipment for industrial, commercial, and utility sectors. This new facility will enhance Tembo Defence’s capacity to support India’s growing defense needs and align with the nation’s push for self-reliance under the ‘Make in India’ and ‘Atmanirbhar Bharat’ initiatives, the company stated.
Sanjay J Patel, Managing Director of Tembo Global Industries, expressed his excitement about the project, saying, “This land allocation marks a major milestone in our commitment to strengthening India’s defense manufacturing sector. The facility will create numerous job opportunities and play a vital role in enhancing the country’s defense infrastructure.”
Tembo Global Industries, established in 2010, has evolved from manufacturing metal components for pipe support systems and HVAC equipment to becoming a 2-Star Export House with a diversified portfolio. The company expanded into EPC contracting in 2023 and entered the defence sector in 2024. Certified by global standards like Underwriter’s Laboratory Inc. and FM Approval (USA), Tembo also operates in the textile trading and solar energy segments, showcasing its commitment to innovation and sustainable growth.
