Teledyne DALSA, a subsidiary of Teledyne Technologies, has announced the launch of the Linea™ HS2 TDI line scan camera series. This new product marks a significant advancement in TDI technology, benefiting from over 40 years of industry experience.

The Linea HS2 is designed for ultra-high-speed imaging in low-light conditions, offering remarkable image quality with a 16k resolution at 5 µm and an impressive maximum line rate of 1 Megahertz, translating to a data throughput of 16 Gigapixels per second.

Equipped with a highly sensitive Backside Illuminated (BSI) multi-array charge-domain TDI CMOS sensor, the Linea HS2 meets the demands of both current and future machine vision applications. The multi-array TDI sensor architecture allows for configurations that prioritize image quality, dynamic range, or full well capacity based on specific application needs.

This camera is particularly well-suited for applications such as semiconductor wafer inspection, high-density interconnects, flat panel displays, and life sciences. The on-chip binning feature also facilitates higher web speeds, enhancing system throughput. Additionally, it includes dual Camera Link HS CX4 connectors to Active Optical Cables, ensuring complete EMI immunity.

The Linea HS2 serves as a seamless upgrade from Teledyne’s previous Linea HS line scan cameras, utilizing the same pixel size, optics, cables, and mounting hardware, while delivering 2.5 times the speed and maintaining efficient power consumption. An optional liquid cooling accessory is available to provide thermal stability during operation.

For an integrated solution, the Linea HS2 camera is compatible with Teledyne’s Xtium2 CLHS series of high-performance frame grabbers, leveraging advanced CLHS technology. This system is built on proven high-speed data transmission methods, allowing data transfer at 16 Gigapixels per second via dual CLHS CX4 connectors to active optical cables. Its data forwarding capability also enables parallel processing across up to 12 PCs.

Teledyne DALSA, part of Teledyne’s Vision Solutions group, is a leader in the development and production of digital imaging components for machine vision. Its image sensors, cameras, smart cameras, frame grabbers, software, and vision solutions are integral to thousands of inspection systems across various industries worldwide.
