Teledyne e2v, a part of Teledyne Technologies [NYSE: TDY], has introduced the Lince5M™ NIR, a cutting-edge high-speed CMOS image sensor designed to offer superior performance in both visible and near-infrared (NIR) wavelengths. This new sensor, built on Teledyne e2v’s advanced imaging technology, is ideal for a wide range of commercial, industrial, and medical uses.
The Lince5M NIR is a monochrome sensor offering a resolution of 5.2 megapixels (2,560 x 2,048). Enhancing the existing Lince5M, the sensor provides high-speed performance and excellent Quantum Efficiency (35% at 850 nm) across both visible and NIR wavelengths. It achieves a frame rate of 250 fps at full resolution with 12-bit ADC, supported by 24 LVDS output channels.
The Lince5M NIR is designed to perform in demanding environments that require sharp, high-speed images in low-light conditions, such as motion capture, sports analytics, industrial metrology, retinal imaging, and intelligent traffic monitoring. With Teledyne e2v’s 5 µm global shutter pixel technology, the sensor offers a dynamic range of 55 dB in standard mode and over 100 dB in High Dynamic Range mode, perfect for high-contrast scenes.
Housed in a durable 28 x 28 mm 181 PGA (Pin-Grid Array) ceramic package, the sensor has a 1-inch optical format, compatible with various C-mount lenses for easy and cost-effective camera integration. Operating in temperatures from -40°C to 125°C, the Lince5M NIR is suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.
