Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has expanded its footprint in the Software-Defined Vehicle (SDV) space by opening two Automotive Delivery Centers in Munich and Villingen‑Schwenningen, Germany, along with an engineering facility in Romania. These new hubs are strategically positioned to support TCS’s global automotive customers in rolling out next-generation mobility solutions.
The German centers will collaborate with automakers on connected vehicle features—ranging from autonomous driving and infotainment to advanced safety systems—while the Romanian center will focus on developing core automotive software platforms. Together, these centers complement TCS’s chip-to-cloud capabilities and reinforce its long-term strategy in automotive digital engineering.
Initially staffed with over 100 professionals, the three centers will collaborate closely with more than 2,000 SDV engineers across TCS’s global network. They will work on full-lifecycle deliverables including digital cockpits, ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems), and production-readiness support. Locating these hubs in Europe fosters nearshore engagement with OEMs and leverages strong regional talent.
Regu Ayyaswamy, Global Head of IoT and Digital Engineering at TCS, noted that the expansion cements the company’s role in delivering autonomous-drive and advanced cockpit innovations. Anupam Singhal, President of Manufacturing, emphasized the move as key to supporting OEMs in creating intelligent, connected, and sustainable vehicles. He said the investment reaffirms TCS’s commitment to future-ready mobility powered by software, AI, and engineering excellence.
