Taural India, a leading aluminium casting company, is reinforcing its sustainability roadmap through the adoption of low-carbon aluminium from Vedanta Aluminium and the planned launch of a green sand-casting process at its upcoming manufacturing facility in Supa, Ahilyanagar. These moves mark a clear step in the company’s efforts to support self-reliant manufacturing and reduce the environmental impact of industrial production in India.

“Our daily operations are built around sustainability”, said Bharat Gite, Managing Director & CEO of Taural India. “With customers in more than 10 countries and across industries like defence and healthcare, we understand our role in building efficient, responsible supply chains. The use of low-carbon aluminium and cleaner casting methods helps us move closer to that goal.”

Taural India’s decision to work with Restora, Vedanta Aluminium’s low-carbon product line, brings down emissions significantly, by as much as 80% compared to traditional aluminium. Produced using renewable power and modern smelting techniques, Restora supports industries that are under growing pressure to meet tougher sustainability norms, both globally and within India.

In addition to materials, Taural India is also investing in cleaner production technologies. The company’s new sand-casting line will introduce natural binders and sand reclamation methods, allowing sand to be reused multiple times with less processing. This reduces waste, conserves resources, and sets a new benchmark for sustainable foundry operations in the country.

Beyond these new initiatives, Taural India has already adopted several green practices. Its operations use natural gas-powered melting furnaces, battery-operated material handling equipment, and a closed-loop approach to waste and water management.

These efforts are part of Taural India’s broader mission to manufacture complex, high-performance aluminium components in India — reducing dependence on imports and supporting the country’s push for industrial self-reliance. The company supplies to key sectors including aerospace, defence, healthcare, energy, marine, and transportation.

Taural India is a fully integrated aluminium foundry based in Pune, operating as a joint venture with Germany’s Thoni Alutec group. The company employs over 750 people and plays a key role in developing locally made, high-precision components for critical applications. As part of the “Make in India” initiative, Taural India serves clients such as the Indian Railways, Ordnance Factory Board, GE, ABB, Siemens, and Hyosung, contributing to both national capability and export competitiveness.
