Tata Power Skill Development Institute (TPSDI), an initiative by Tata Power, has launched a dedicated training centre in Delhi focused on developing skilled professionals for the solar and renewable energy sector. The newly inaugurated facility was opened by Santosh Kumar Sarangi, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), along with Praveer Sinha, CEO and MD of Tata Power.

The Green Energy Skill Centre will offer hands-on training in solar photovoltaic systems, energy storage, pumped hydro storage, electrical safety, and other critical technologies essential for supporting India’s clean energy transformation. This initiative supports the growing demand for skilled manpower in the renewable sector, especially as India accelerates programs like the PM Surya Ghar Yojana.

The training curriculum is aligned with MNRE’s national skilling framework, making TPSDI a key contributor to building a future-ready workforce. With this launch, TPSDI reinforces its role as a leading institution in technical skill-building for the energy industry.

Over the past ten years, TPSDI has trained more than 3.43 lakh individuals, delivering 1.3 million person-days of learning. The institute has also made significant strides in inclusive development, having trained over 50,000 individuals from underrepresented communities and more than 18,000 women. The new centre in Delhi is set to become a hub for practical, industry-aligned training that supports India’s sustainability goals and prepares the next generation of green energy professionals.
