Tata Power-led distribution companies in Odisha have been recognized among the top-performing utilities in India, securing A+ ratings in the Ministry of Power’s annual rankings. These rankings evaluate utilities on financial sustainability, performance excellence, and their external environment, and were revealed during a Regional Review Meeting in New Delhi.

The Hon’ble Union Minister of Power and Housing & Urban Affairs, Shri Manohar Lal, launched three critical reports during the event: the 13th Integrated Ratings of 63 Distribution Utilities for FY 2023-24, the 4th Edition of the Consumer Services Rating of DISCOMs (CSRD) Report, and the inaugural Distribution Utilities Ranking (DUR) Report.

Among the top utilities, Tata Power’s Odisha Discoms—TPCODL, TPNODL, and TPWODL—each maintained their A+ rating in the 13th Integrated Ratings, highlighting their excellence in operational efficiency and financial performance. These Discoms, operating in collaboration with the Government of Odisha, serve as a model of successful public-private partnership in power distribution.

Additionally, Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (TPDDL) and Tata Power Company Limited (TPCL) Mumbai earned the highest A+ grade in the CSRD report, reaffirming Tata Power’s leadership in consumer service. In the first-ever DUR report, TPWODL ranked at the top in the Distribution Utilities category, while TPDDL was recognized as a top performer among urban Discoms.

Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power, remarked, “This national recognition solidifies Odisha Discoms’ role as a leader in public-private power distribution. Our success is a result of collaboration with the Government of Odisha and the hard work of our employees, who have driven technological innovation and operational excellence. Our Odisha Model has become a benchmark for power distribution reforms, demonstrating the effectiveness of public-private partnerships in achieving efficiency and customer satisfaction.”

Tata Power‘s distribution business serves approximately 13 million customers across New Delhi, Mumbai, Ajmer, and multiple regions in Odisha (Western, Southern, Central, and Northern). It plays a crucial role in advancing India’s transition toward a low-carbon, energy-secure future.
