Tata Power Renewable Energy Limited (TPREL), a fully owned unit of Tata Power and a leader in India’s rooftop solar sector, has launched a new low-cost solar solution in Bhubaneswar as part of its ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ initiative. This move is aimed at making rooftop solar systems more attainable for households across Odisha. With easy payment plans starting at ₹2,499 for 1 kW, ₹4,999 for 2 kW, and ₹7,999 for 3 kW systems, residents can now opt for solar power without large upfront costs. Customers are required to pay only a third of the total price initially, easing the shift to renewable energy for a wider segment of the population.
The initiative is backed by central and state government incentives. Under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, consumers are eligible for subsidies up to ₹78,000 on solar systems up to 3 kW—covering nearly 40% of installation expenses. In addition, Odisha’s state subsidy adds further support: ₹25,000 for 1 kW, ₹50,000 for 2 kW, and up to ₹60,000 for 3 kW and above systems.
TPREL has introduced two new residential offerings to meet diverse household needs: MySine, a compact solar system integrated with battery backup to provide uninterrupted power, and Solar Design Spaces, a curated selection of 25 rooftop solar designs that blend energy efficiency with modern architectural aesthetics.
The ‘Ghar Ghar Solar’ campaign has already led to a sharp increase in adoption rates. Odisha’s residential rooftop solar user base grew from 430 to 1,759 consumers. In FY25, 1,033 new households signed up, compared to just 100 in FY24. The commercial and industrial sector also expanded, adding 76 new customers this year, up from 56 last year.
For over a decade, TPREL has led India’s rooftop solar segment, offering customers long-term warranties, dependable product quality, installation and service support across 450+ districts, and simple loan options. Their systems also come with built-in insurance. With expanding reach, improved product options, and financial support, Tata Power is helping more households make the switch to solar—bringing renewable energy to the doorstep.
