Tata Power Community Development Trust (TPCDT), in partnership with Anupam Kher Studio, held a special screening of the film Tanvi the Great at PVR Palladium in Lower Parel, Mumbai. This event forms part of Tata Power’s ongoing Pay Autention initiative, which aims to raise awareness and foster acceptance around Autism Spectrum Disorder and the wider neurodiverse community.
The screening was attended by Dr Praveer Sinha, CEO & MD of Tata Power, and acclaimed actor-director Anupam Kher, along with senior leadership from the Tata Group. Over 700 guests—including neurodiverse children, families, educators, policy makers, NGO representatives, and government officials—participated in the program.
The event featured a specially curated Sensory Experience Zone, developed by Sensory All, a startup focused on creating inclusive spaces. The installation allowed attendees to explore sensory elements designed to reflect the experiences of neurodiverse individuals. Following the Mumbai event, Tata Power and Anupam Kher Studio will take the film and sensory experience on tour to five more cities—Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Kolkata—creating shared spaces for learning, dialogue, and inclusion.
Commenting on the initiative, Dr Praveer Sinha said, “Our commitment to supporting neurodiverse individuals and their families is long-standing. With Tanvi the Great, we aim to spark a national conversation through the power of cinema. This is not just a film—it’s a reminder that individuals on the autism spectrum bring their own strengths and perspectives. Inclusion begins with understanding, and that’s what we strive to create through Pay Autention.”
Anupam Kher shared his personal connection to the film, saying, “Tanvi the Great is inspired by my niece Tanvi, whose talents and determination shaped this story. Through this collaboration with Tata Power, we hope to reach hearts across India and change how society views neurodiversity.”
Himal Tewari, CHRO and Head of Sustainability & CSR at Tata Power, added, “True inclusion doesn’t mean treating people with autism differently—it means recognizing and celebrating every individual’s uniqueness. Through Pay Autention, we are working to build India’s first hybrid support network for neurodiverse individuals and their families.”
Tanvi the Great tells the story of a young girl on the autism spectrum who challenges stereotypes and pursues her dream despite the odds. The film sheds light on the everyday realities and extraordinary potential of neurodiverse individuals, encouraging a shift in public attitudes.
Tata Power’s Pay Autention program supports early diagnosis, caregiver assistance, inclusive education, and skill development, while promoting neurodiversity in schools and workplaces. With a growing network of 500+ partner organizations and outreach to over 18,000 families, the initiative works closely with subject experts and platforms like E-Sanidhya, in partnership with the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment and Tata Elxsi. By supporting projects like Tanvi the Great, TPCDT reaffirms its belief in storytelling as a catalyst for social change—bringing neurodiversity into everyday conversations and advancing inclusion at every level.
