Tata Power Delhi Distribution Limited (Tata Power-DDL) has entered into a strategic partnership with the Indian Institute of Management Kozhikode (IIMK) to enhance professional capabilities in the solar energy and power distribution sectors. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was recently signed by Praveen Agrawal, Chief of Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Facility Management & Health Services at Tata Power-DDL, and Professor Debashis Chatterjee, Director of IIM Kozhikode, in the presence of senior representatives from both institutions.
The collaboration will focus on designing and delivering specialised training programs, executive education, and applied research tailored to the dynamic needs of the energy industry. It will also facilitate national and international consultancy projects, joint workshops, and experiential learning initiatives.
Beyond technical training, the initiative aims to support ongoing upskilling and reskilling efforts, faculty development, and leadership training—helping build functional excellence within the power distribution ecosystem. Tata Power-DDL, a public-private joint venture between Tata Power and the Government of Delhi, is responsible for electricity distribution in North Delhi, catering to approximately 9 million residents.

The company has been a leader in power distribution reforms, with a significant reduction in technical and commercial losses. Since privatization, Tata Power-DDL has successfully reduced losses from 53% in 2002 to just 5.5% today, setting a benchmark in the industry.
