Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power-DDL) announced on Monday that it has signed an initial agreement with FSR Global to foster innovation in smart grid technology and advance policy research. The partnership aims to promote extensive research, technical publications, and knowledge-sharing programs that will enhance industry expertise and encourage best practices within the power sector.
As per the announcement, Tata Power-DDL and FSR Global have entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate on policy development, the innovation of clean energy technologies, and strengthening capacity building. This collaboration is viewed as a key move toward promoting sustainable energy solutions and regulatory excellence, particularly focusing on the development of smart grids in India.
“This partnership will accelerate the adoption of smart grid technologies, improving the reliability, efficiency, and resilience of India’s energy infrastructure, ultimately benefiting our communities and economy,” said Gajanan S Kale, CEO of Tata Power-DDL.
The MoU not only focuses on technological progress but also aims to build capacity across Indian utilities and share India’s experience with other countries in the Global South. “Through this collaboration, we look forward to innovating and showcasing various smart grid use cases as part of the Smart Grid Observatory (SGO) Community,” stated Swetha Ravi Kumar, Executive Director of FSR Global.
