Tata Power Delhi Distribution (Tata Power DDL) announced on Friday that it has teamed up with Baaz Bikes, an electric vehicle battery-swapping service provider, to establish battery swapping stations across North and Northwest Delhi. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between Tata Power-DDL and Baaz Bikes (Electorq Technologies Pvt Ltd) aims to augment and set up electric vehicle battery swapping stations at Tata Power-DDL’s grid substations in the region. These stations will be designed, procured, installed, and maintained by Baaz Bikes.
Tata Power DDL will allocate dedicated space at its grid substations for these battery swapping stations. The collaboration combines Tata Power-DDL’s robust infrastructure with Baaz Bikes’ advanced battery-swapping technology, supporting the growth of commercial electric two-wheeler mobility in Delhi. Initially, Baaz Bikes plans to establish three battery swapping stations at Tata Power-DDL’s grid substations—Rohini Grid-5, Rohini Grid-23, and Rohini Grid-28.
Gajanan S Kale, CEO of Tata Power-DDL, said, “This partnership leverages our infrastructure expertise and Baaz Bikes’ cutting-edge technology to accelerate the adoption of electric two-wheelers and contribute to environmental sustainability.”
