Mumbai-based Tata Power aims to achieve over ₹1 lakh crore in revenue and ₹10,000 crore in profit after tax (PAT) by 2029-30 (FY30), according to MD and CEO Praveer Sinha. The company has outlined an annual capital expenditure (capex) exceeding ₹25,000 crore from FY26 onward, with a total planned investment of ₹1,46,000 crore between FY25 and FY30. For the current fiscal year, the capex is projected at ₹21,000 crore.
A significant portion of this investment—50-60%—will focus on renewable energy initiatives, including utility-scale projects and renewable manufacturing operations. Tata Power is targeting an increase in clean energy capacity to 33 GW by FY30, up from the current 23 GW.
Sinha also emphasized the company’s efforts to expand its transmission and distribution networks, with plans to secure new distribution areas across various states. Additionally, Tata Power is advancing its hydroelectric investments both domestically and internationally. Key projects include pumped hydro ventures in India at Lonavala (Bhivpuri and Shirota) and equity participation in new hydro projects in Bhutan.
Despite its aggressive growth strategy, Tata Power has no immediate plans for an IPO for its solar module operations. With a market capitalization of ₹1,41,393 crore and a 32% rise in its share value over the past year, the company remains focused on driving sustainable energy expansion and infrastructure development.
