Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM), a subsidiary of Tata Motors, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Rajasthan Solar Association (RSA) to advance electric vehicle (EV) adoption and solar-powered EV charging in Rajasthan.

Under this partnership, customers who install solar power systems at their residences or businesses will qualify for additional discounts on Tata EV purchases. RSA will manage the certification process, ensuring eligible customers can access these discounts. RSA will also promote the benefits of TPEM’s EV lineup throughout Rajasthan.

Balaje Rajan, Chief Strategy Officer for Tata Passenger Electric Mobility and Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles, noted, “Rooftop solar offers EV owners dual advantages—affordable power and zero-emission mobility. Over 90% of EV owners charge at home, with nearly 30% already using solar for this purpose. Through this synergy, EV users can virtually eliminate fuel costs, achieving true zero-cost mobility. We’ve introduced new packages combining rooftop solar installation with EV purchases to further drive this integration.”

Nitin Agarwal, CEO of the Rajasthan Solar Association, added, “This partnership is a game-changer for EV adoption in Rajasthan, combining the benefits of solar power with EV technology. It’s a significant step in promoting green energy and reducing reliance on fossil fuels, marking a pivotal milestone in Rajasthan’s move towards a sustainable future.”
